REMEMBERING THE GREAT LEADER COMRADE KIM JONG IL by Dermot Hudson
I was shocked when I heard the news on the early morning of the 19th of December 2011. It was a typical cold , dark and miserable December morning , some say December is an unlucky month or a month of misery . This was certainly true of December 2011. As I awoke awkwardly from a deep sleep I received a text message from an old friend , an academic who follows the Juche Idea , which
sad 'Very sad news indeed, condolences to all' . I was both shocked by the message and mystified at the same time . Who had passed away ? I did not think it could be the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL because he was not old and also during the past weeks had been energetically carrying out on the spot guidance . I stumbled into the kitchen and turned my small radio. The BBC Radio 4 announcer said that the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL had indeed passed away . I was not sure that this was true because the imperialists tell lies and make up all kinds of stories about
People's Korea. I struggled to get my computer working , it came on and I went onto the webpage
of KCNA, It was true , KCNA announced that the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL has passed
away . This was a big shock to me . The cold and miserable December morning seemed to become
even more miserable . A sense of stark emptiness swept over me.
We later learnt that although comrade KIM JONG IL passed away on the morning of the 17th of December , dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN deferred the announcement of the passing away
of comrade KIM JONG IL so as not to ruin the working people's day off on Sunday .
Now 6 years have passed since that fateful and cold December day but the great leader comrade
KIM JONG IL is remembering by not only the Korean people but by the Juche Idea , Songun Idea
followers , progressive and anti-imperialist people throughout the whole world , from Belfast to
Bogota ! The memory of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL grows ever brighter in the hearts and minds of the Korean people and world progressive people.
Comrade KIM JONG IL was the iron-willed leader who had led the Korean people through the
most difficult period of the mid and late 1990s when People's Korea had to face not only the sanctions and blockades of vicious imperialists but a series of natural disasters which at times had
wiped out up to 80 per cent of the crop harvest. At the same time thanks to the treachery of modern revisionism the socialist camp collapsed and the DPRK lost a large part of its foreign trade. The Korean people were also in grief due to the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG . The situation looked imaginably dire but the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL buckled down to work , giving on the spot guidance to hundreds of different units and localities come rain or shine covering a distance of thousands of kilometres . Some had thought the DPRK would collapse,others that it would change it system and ideology . The crafty and cunning imperialists offered 'aid' to the DPRK not to help it but to smash up the Juche -based socialist system.!
Comrade KIM JONG IL declared "Expect No Change from Me ! " and led the Korean people
under the banner of self-reliance and the Juche Idea to tackle and overcome the immense
difficulties. Instead of collapsing the DPRK became a more prosperous and stronger socialist country.It was during this period that the first earth satellite of the DPRK , Kwangmysong 1 was
launched in 1998 , Many construction projects such as the Anbyon Power station were completed . Later in the 2000s land realignment and the construction of gravity fed waterways was pushed forward . The February 8th Vinalon Complex , the symbol of self-reliant industry, was rebuilt and modernised.
The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL stressed the Songun(army-first) idea and carried through the line of Songun politics to combat the military threats and pressure of the US imperialists which reached extremes during this period . Comrade KIM JONG IL had began his Songun revolutionary
leadership during on the 25th of August 1960 . Sticking to the line of Songun comrade KIM JONG IL built up the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK . He put the DPRK on the road to becoming
an advanced nuclear power capable of repelling the US nuclear threat.
It was the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL who broke down the barrier of national division by
holding the first ever summit on the 15th of June 2000 with the leader of south Korea . Comrade
KIM JONG IL adhered to the principle of 'By Our Nation Itself '.\
It is not possible to list all the many achievements and accomplishments of the great leader comrade
KIM JONG IL in a short essay such as this because they are great , massive and manifold . He was
a great philosopher and theoretician who developed the great Juche idea as well as the great pratician
of Songun politics and the leader who defended Korean socialism.
On the 6th anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL we remember the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL for all his exploits .
